Sometimes chocolate is an emergency. In a major way. Who’s with me on this?
If you are like me, and are looking for a down and dirty AND paleo chocolate fix, I’ve got your back!
I discovered this recipe while searching online for paleo chocolate frosting options for a banana cake I made a month or so ago. Most of the recipes I saw, while very simple, called for ingredients I didn’t have lying around. So what’s a girl to do? Modify the recipe!
Yep, that’s it! Yep, this is a lazy person’s recipe. Yep, I’m a lazy person (only sometimes of course). And talk about two birds, one stone. You can eat your pudding while frosting a cake with this paleo recipe!
Mash the avocado, add cacao powder and honey by taste until it’s chocolatey enough and sweet enough for you.
I did this in a blender, but you can easily do it by hand as well. It’s pretty thick so you can add water if you like, depending on the consistency you prefer.
I haven’t tried this yet, BUT instead of avocado you could use a banana or a baked and mashed sweet potato.
